​As your pet ages, they need more attention and special care.  We look forward to working with you to help your pet remain fit and healthy as he or she ages. Regular examinations and laboratory testing will allow us to catch potential problems when they’re easier to treat or manage. 

It is important to diagnose diseases and health conditions early for all pets.  It is even more important to diagnose early as your pet ages since their immune systems are becoming more compromised and the ability to recover fully is lowered.  Your aging pet may not show signs of arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, kidney failure, liver disease, cancer, hormone disorders and other health problems until they are quite advanced.

It is very difficult to assess when your pet should be considered "senior" since each breed and size of pet have varying average lifecycles.  In general,  smaller dogs tend to live longer than larger dogs, and cats generally live longer than dogs. Certain breeds of dogs and cats may live, on average, longer than others.

Once we assess what life stage your pet is in, we will gladly tailor a senior wellness plan to meet you and your pet’s individual needs.
